ID-10089855If you own a business, or even if you don’t, smartphones can occupy a huge amount of your time. In fact, you probably spend more time with it than you spend with your computer or, in some cases, even with your spouse. It’s a handy pocket-sized secretary that you can take absolutely anywhere in the world. Since the smartphone is so infinitely popular, it’s high time that some rules about it be established. With that in mind, here are a couple of rules you should mind.

Make a Good Signature

Sometimes your phone automatically inserts “sent from Blackberry” or “Sent from Yahoo! Mobile App” or what have you, but most of the time you have the choice of setting your own signature. This ability means you can set a signature to whatever you’d like for it to say, including your phone number, title, and the company that you’re with. That looks much better than the name of the phone that sent it.

Stop Taking Pictures

Now, everyone likes to take pictures, and they can be quite exciting. Sometimes pictures are completely appropriate – and sometimes they aren’t. Real-life experiences without a bunch of flashes or tags in Facebook can also be excellent. Make sure you ask permission before you take a picture or before you tag on any social media website.

No Need to Shout

Speaker technology has improved enough in recent years that you can hear just about everything – and so can the other person on the other end of the line. Sirens, movies, loud classrooms are all obstacles of the past, which means it’s okay to talk softer at appropriate times. The speaker will probably still pick up your voice, and you won’t look like you don’t care about the people around you.
