Your website has had some presence for months now, but no one’s really visiting. You can’t figure out why, but it’s super frustrating. Don’t worry; not everyone is an expert, and sometimes it takes a while for you to get things right. Here are a few tips to get you started in the right direction.

Find Local Businesses to Help

Every backlink you create is one more "point" you have with Google. Find websites that can benefit from partnering with you (and vice versa). Link to them and have their websites link to yours. Share their quality blog posts and have them share yours. You don't have to stop there; you can partner with businesses that are local and offer discounts for your services when a customer buys something from their store. Even if the other company doesn’t want to link back to your website, you can still link to theirs if their content may be valuable to your customers, in order to build up relationships with your clients.

Do You Have a Mobile Version of Your Website?

Over half of the Internet connection subscriptions are for mobile devices (such as iPads and smartphones). That's a huge audience. If your website isn't built to be mobile-friendly, you're losing a humongous amount of traffic and business. Even if your website isn't necessarily built for mobile traffic now, you can still optimize it with larger texts and smaller images. Include "clickable" buttons that people can tap to achieve instant contact with your company via email or telephone. If you can't design your website for mobile connections, then create a separate website that's meant just for mobile devices. When someone connects via a smartphone or tablet, they should be automatically routed to this version of the website instead.
